Mac Elliott
The rear stabilizer bar bushings on my '91 are rattling when I go over uneven road surfaces. I asked the Buick parts guy to order replacements and he said there are 6 different bushings back there. Does anyone know which should be replaced, and the corresponding part number(s) ?Thanks, Mac
harry yarnell
Are you sure it's bushings, and not the brake pads rattling in the calipers? Does it quiet when you apply the brake?
Mac Elliott
Applying the brakes does not seem to eliminate it. Do you advise putting the car up on the rack for a visual inspection ? I doubt the pads were replaced when the was in California with the original owner. The noise is irritating and I've been meaning to fix it since April when I brought the Reatta out of storage, and want to follow through while I'm motivated. If it is a good idea to replace the caliper pads as routine maintenance, maybe I should do that, too ?Your suggestions will be appreciated. harry yarnell
I wouldn't replace the pads unless they're worn. New pads have a tendancy to rattle too. If applying the brake doesn't quiet the noise, then probably (but no gaurantee)it's not the pads.Yes, get it up in the air and check bushings. Guest wally888
Have you tightened the nuts? I had one nut that lost it's self locking feature and unscrewed itself.
Mac Elliott
The car will be hoisted for an underside view on Monday. I'll also check the nuts to verify a good grip. Thanks to both.
