Trunk Table

On page 19 of the TWOTZ March/April 2003 edition there was a reprint of a Lincoln accessories bulletin that showed a picnic table that was used with the 37 LZ spare tire as its platform and base. My father-in-law is an excellent wood worker and builder and has been working from the picture and using my spare tire set up to create a new one of these tables. I hope to have it ready for a car show that is taking place next week. I think this will be one of the cooler additions I can do to the car, besides giving me a place to sit and enjoy a cool Dr. Pepper, a warm hamburger and fries. I guess with a Lincoln it should be a steak and a bake potato, but on my budget it won't be. If this works and out like the original and any of you would like either the plans or need someone to build one for you, I can connect you with Jim Chapman. For the past 28 years he has been a great father-in-law!

Dear Ace,Though that picnic table is a neat idea i believe it was an ad put together in jest,do not think it was actually available. The phone number for foglights and related parts is Kanter Auto Products 973-334-9575 ask for a catalog. As for the bumper bolts with the lights in them i am still looking for a name and address. In regard to your fuel hose hook up,our 37 Ford had the same hook-up, hose is available from Macs or Carpenter,my supplier of choice regarding all things interior is LeBarron Bonney, ask for Wendy she is ACES in my book.diz
