Guest
Thank you any ideas on what to start it at or what to expect as far as value goes.
Guest Indiana_Truck
I have bought a few of these on Ebay and they made several different sizes. The Standard is the biggest I have and I bought it for my truck but it was to big and did not look right. They also made a Universal model which is one size smaller and a Midgit model that was more for the Model T. The one you have most likely was for a big truck but could have been on anything. A lot of these were bought later but some cars and trucks came with one in the early days. (20's 30's) As with anything, condition is important in getting a good price. I have seen the small ones sell for $8 to $10 and up and the bigger ones $25 to $35 and up. Some of these also have the name of the car like REO or what ever make it was sold for. Does yours still have any of the red showing in the glass tube? That will also have an effect on value. If you want to check to see if it still works, try putting some water in a pan and stand the meter up in it and slowly heat the water but don't boil it. If the red line moves it still works. I have the same one as you but it does not work but my other 2 Universal Models do and I have them on my 25 and 27 Indiana's. As for a starting price, I would start it at your lowest price that you would sell it for and let the bidders take it from there. Good Luck <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
