Guest
This is a Dump in running condition. Push the button and she starts, Lincon Flat Head V8 279 or 317 ( not sure ) She does not smoke and purrs like a cat. Shows less then 30k mileage. Its a Marmon Herrington 4x4 all wheel system in this. This is suppost to be all original equipment here. Its missing the drivers mirrors, drivers windows broken, she's filthy and the dump is rusted and cracked in places. She's siting in a barn.I'm helping a friend here, We'll be pressure washing this and I plan on sand blasting the dump and perhaps doing minor welds to make her look nice. She has her old paint still on the cab.A minor dent in the front nose. Just going to clean and buff up the cab. I know how much you folks love these things in old condition. This is a very nice find I beleave. And running so sweet, I was amazed myself. I'm looking for help in finding the New owner to be. And also what this prize would be valued at. My friend ( owner ) said he spoke to someone a long time ago who offered 20k if he would ship it across the states. ( to bad he did not take that ) If you know of someone interested in this please let me know at Omniwulf@hotmail.com . Please place in header this is about this truck. alot of spam comes there. Also I will will be putting together a web page shortly with photos of this truck once she's cleaned up and ready to be looked over. ( about 2 weeks )Thank you.Omni
Guest
Question Gang.. The Dump bed on this thing is rusted and broken. Should we bother throwing some steel in this not quite knowing if this is desired or should we just sand blast this dump bed and let who wishes to restor this truck do the work?Mind you if we do it , it would not be the best. DizzyDale
I would leave it alone, anyone interested enough to buy it would want it repaired correctly, not much FUN re-doing somebodys quick COVER-UP.My 2-cents,diz
Guest
Thanks. I thought perhaps we should just remove the dump bed and sell the rig short of that.. cause the rest of the truck is great, Its all really in amazing conditions. I beleave someone really took great care of her, but worked the dump bed. The hadrolics work on the dump too. Far as I know everything works and is original equipment.

Guest
Sorry for the delay in reply.Photos will come soon. Was talking to my friend last night and he's telling me how he did some work on the farm and he says how he used the dump in moving some gravel. I asked him " what? you mean the 49 Ford?" and he says sure, he drove it across the fields,(35 acres of them). I just had to laugh at him and reminded him we're suppost to be getting that ready to sell not tear it up. As you can see though by this..its all in working order I told him what the other fellow spoke about not welding anything, so we won't do any patch welds on the dump box. But just to make her look good I still plan on Sand blasting the Dump bed part and going over it with Primer. I realise how sand blasting can have ill effects on body work, but I can't picture this having much effect to a heavy steal Dump box. We'll be working soon on Detailing the insides and such. pressure washing that sort of thing. Going to lay a good coat of wax too, get her looking spiffy befor we take the photos Few weeks more befor photos will be posted.thanks for the responces.
