Torque Specs

I don't think there are torque specs for these early DBs, even the engine head. When I put the head for my 22/23 on last time I used torque and pattern from a Chrysler chart for the early 30s (65# and a radial pattern starting from the center). One caution, if you are using any of the original bolts/nuts be aware that they are quite a bit softer than current bolts and tend to strip very easily.

Thanks for the heads up on this. Learning is fun when you can rely on folks who have "been there and done that"!

If your engine has original studs and nuts, I wouldn't torque them more than 50 ft-lbs. When the force on the wrench stops increasing as you tighten the nut, you have gone too far. Be very careful! This applies to all fasteners.
