Center Bumper Guards

I have seen many photos of 39 Lincoln Zephyrs with the center bumper guard on the front bumper.I have not,unfortunately seen the back of the same car to see if it had a center bumper guard on the rear bumper.WAS there a guard for the rear?and i would have thought that they would have been sold in pairs originally.Thanks,diz <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I just found a photo of Jerry Emery's 1939 Lincoln Zephyr Convertible in Volume 14, Number 2 (1976) Automobile Quarterly showing a center rear bumper guard. I have no idea how or where Jerry obtained it since it doesn't show in the Special Interest Autos DriveReport of Jerry's car in 1971. The car was subsequently severely damaged by a fire and has risen from the ashes like the Phoenix bird and is currently a top show winner in Northern California. In case you don't know, Jerry Emery is the current president of the Lincoln Zephyr Owners Club.

I just found another photo of a 1939 Lincoln Zephyr convertible coupe with a rear center bumper guard. This is probably the other side of Jerry Emery's car. I'd like to see some photos of the car after the restoration. I understand it's blue now and GORGEOUS. How about it Jerry? I finally found a car with both front AND rear bumper guards. Still don't know if they were sold in pairs 64 years ago, but they're both on this car.
