Hi Gary,

Replacement remotes can be purchased at www.remotesunlimited.com for a very reasonable cost. They will need the FCC ID : GLQ9Z6 - 1507. If you use the forum search function you will find many posts that contain cost and programming method. Don't buy from the dealer!! Good luck.

ReattaRay,

I gotta thank you... www.remotesunlimited.com beat my local dealers price by about $200 When I first picked up my 89 it only had one remote (pretty well worn), one ignition key and one door key, and the keys were in bad shape. The door key looked as if it had been bent and realligned a few times, and the ignition key was pretty well worn.

My local dealer didn't have the blank for the door key, and reluctantly attempted to copy the ignition key (successfully), and wanted well over $200 for the remote (which they had it stock). A trip to Lowes netted me door keys and spare ignition keys.

Another option is to use an early 90's Cadillac Remote which are plentiful and cheap, as well as having the same 4 button design and function as the original Buick remote. The remotes that I am using came from my departed '94 DeVille Concours. They are often available on Ebay for 20-30 dollars.

First off, Thank you! The address www.remotesunlimited.com, they were GREAT!!! I will spread the word. They supplied an image which shows the remote unit in the trunk attached to the under panel where the "rear window break light" is located. On a previous discussion board message, the Reatta remote details were explained in a more complete and correct manner. Once you purchase the number of remotes you need from Remotes Unlimited, Open the trunk and pull away the left wheel well carpet. You should see a purple line with a green "head" possibly taped to the well by masking tape. You will need a length of small wire (coated) to push into the green head. Turn the key to "on" position and attach the opposite end which is not connected to a grounded part of the car (I used a screw which was attache to the frame of the car). After you have done this, just follow the rest of Remotes Unlimited instructions and you will have 1,2,3 or more remotes ready for your Reatta. I almost purchased a remote on ebay until you directed me to Remotes Unlimited at www.remotesunlimited.com.

Thank you again! Gary <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
