I have to do one AGAIN, and don't want to go back in there anytime soon. I know that you should always use GM A/C compressors vs remans, but what about fuel pumps? Shelby Posted February 16, 2003 Share Posted February 16, 2003 I have had 7 GM cars with the 3800 fuel injection system like the Reatta. For some reason I have never found a fuel pump other than the GM delco that lasts more than a couple of months. They are a few bucks more but just put the Delco in. Check the tank for rust, Especially around the filler neck and the seams. Change the fuel filter often, It solves a lot of problems. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest EDBSO Posted February 18, 2003 Share Posted February 18, 2003 On a Taurus SHO I had a fuel pump go out just off warranty and the Dealer wouldn't help. I did it myself on the drive and used the cheapest one I could find. When sold to the insurance company after a hit and run accident it had lasted 2 times the original.
