Clips & Fasteners found at salvage yard

I was at a salvage yard killing time and looking for clips, bolts and things today. My '88 was missing the square clips the wing nuts fit in for the valance under the hood. (near the cowl, it covers the A/C lines and wiper motor.) An early 90's Pontiac Bonneville has the same wing nuts/clips holding the trim panel in place under the steering column(interior). I installed them and they are a perfect fit.

That kind of info could be near priceless. Is it possible, since you can edit your post, to retitle your post with some variation of "Retaining clips and fasteners" (there is proper nomenclature - I just don't know it) so that it will be beneficial in the search function?

These are the same parts on an Olds Toronado but they are always broken and/or missing. I to look at ever car at the junk yard(for cheap parts) - Auto recycling center (the price is triple for the same part.

Do not know if they still do but GM used to have a separate "standard parts catalog" for fasteners, connectors, wires , bulbs, and hoses that were used across all of the car lines.

Part numbers for the retainers and nuts that hold the black plastic cowl in place:

1637234 = Retainer

25515544 = Nut

I lost my clips and retainer nuts while at the Buffalo National Meet. At Flint my hood will only be open when I'm next to the car!!!

That sucks! I have friend who lost the original glass headlight covers on his 63 Avanti at a national meet.
