fordee9r (Ron Springstead)
I have aquired a NOS Fram oil filter made to fit my '37 Chrysler Royal. Although it's never been used, it's been knocked around for many years and the main body could use a fresh coat of orange paint. Does anyone know of a supplier that duplicates the "Fram Orange"? Guest
Hello, Ron: Take your filter to an auto body supply store, and they can match and mix the right color for you. If there's no paint left on your filter, buy a new Fram filter and take the box with you to the store. Once they mix the paint for you, they can put it into spray cans. You'll have to specify that you need high-temp paint. If you go to an auto parts store, you may find the Chevrolet or Chrysler slant-six engine block paint to me just about the right orange, and you can buy a spray can of high-temp paint there. fordee9r (Ron Springstead)
Thanks Jon,I was hoping that someone knew of a paint from someone like Eastwood, Bill Hirsch, etc that was a virtual match to the Fram Orange. I had considered the procedure you suggested but it's more expensive than something already in the can.
