Mark Huston
I have a 1929 Stewart-Warner speedometer for my Studebaker that needs rebuilt. The shop that rebuilt a speedometer for me the last time is now out of business. So, those of you who have had a vintage pot metal speedometer rebuilt recently who do you recommend? Who are the good shops to use? I need someone that will get the job done right and not keep my speedometer for a year before getting it back to me. Any recommendations? Bill Stoneberg
I use D & M Restorations in Nort Carolina for all my guages on the Buick I am retoring. They cam back in a reasonable time and didn't cost an arm and a leg.Their phone number is (800) 722-0854.
Mark Huston
Bill,Thank you for the information. Spoke with Mike at D&M, very knowledgable. Gave me a quote of $140-250 (subject to seeing it) for repairs. 5-6 week turn around with a 1 year warranty. Sounds good, I will give him a try.
