Guest
Anyone have any tips on removing the vinyl dashpad from the dash? I have a body manual that points to the fasteners but it doesn't say if they are threaded or how they hold the dashpad on.. I don't wanna break her
thanks
*********************************************
Brad
68 Skylark Custom Convertible
Austin, TX
BUICK RACER
You need a 3/8 wrench or socket, there are 3 nuts, one towards the driver, one in the middle near the glove box and one towards the end of the glove box. Taking the radio and the glove box out make it much easier to find them but not a fun job either. Once you get the nuts off, there are push pins at either end of the dash, that go into a spring clip, carefully pull out and up a little, when the dashpad is completely loose from the dash, pull the whole thing up there, are tabs that go into the metal part of the front of the dash near the windshield, you should be able to remove the pad carefully. Hope that helps.
