slipping super turbine 300

works fine in first gear, but , when it shifts to second it slips terribly. It obviously doesn't have any pressure or the plates are slipping. Where do I start looking first and what all could cause this?
------------------
GMFord

When it shifts back into low does it do so with a definite "bang". Mine did when the a/c was on causing the idle/manifold vacumn to drop too low. Resolved the problem by installing an adjustable modulator from a diesel car application. Just a thought!
------------------
Don Caithness
Technical Advisor
1967&1974 "A" Body
http://appraisals.webjump.com
collectorcarappraisalservices@attcanada.net

Try the vacuum modulator and the vacuum lines leading to the modulator from the manifold.
This is a common problem with that transmission. Let me know and good luck,John.
John Lyman, Certified Automotive Instructor.
ASE Cert.

Don Didn't have any down shifting problem. Thanks anyway.
John I checked the vaccuam line and it was o.k. Changed the modulator to one I know to be good and will take it out some time this week to see if it helped the problem. (got to move some cars- no time just now) Will let you know. Thanks
Garry
------------------
GMFord
