Help Finding Info on Starts 1901 Replica

I have been desperately seeking information on a small reproduction mini-car made in the 60's (I think).
The company was a small one named "STARTS". It was based in Ft. Lauderdale FL. The car I have is a reproduction of a 1901 Ford Model T called "Starts Replica". It is black, and has yellow pin strips. It has a lawnmower type engine under the seat and a black leather canopy top. I have been in possesion of the this car many years and once saw a postcard of one of these cars on it. I have also been told there were several different models of these cars. This one is in very good condition but needs to be restored. Could some one help me gather information about this little car. I want to restore it back to origional condition.

Thank You BMWDave
Maybe so, It is built on the look of a Model T and has a Logo Emblem on the side of the car which states " 1901 Starts Replica, Ft. Lauderdale Fl". He is a picture of the car. Thanks again
bmwdave
<img src="http://www.dswebdesign.com/E-Bay/starts.jpg"

[This message has been edited by peterg (edited 10-31-2000).]
[This message has been edited by peterg (edited 10-31-2000).]

Your replicar certainly does not replicate the Model T. And since Ford did not make the first Model A until 1903, and although your car does bear some similarity to the first A, it may, as with some other companies in the '50s have been intended to be similar to the '01 Oldsmobile. On the other hand it may have just been intended to look like an early car and the research was not clear as to what they were trying to replicate.
In any case it looks like a fun project and I hope you keep us posted on progress.
