I remember seeing this wagon at a show in Xenia Ohio in the summer of 1982. I remember thinking that I had never seen one like it. Now I know why, it was the only one built! Neat car. Kevin

Gary… There is a chain restaurant with many locations in Florida called Fords Garage. They are licensed by FoMoCo. They use a similar set up for their napkins…..blue shop rags placed within worm style hose clamps. One of the great auto related items in the restaurant. There are also Model As hanging from the ceiling as well as parked outside. On top of the car theme displays, the food is very good also. Happy birthday! Kevin

Here’s a fun one — Who bought a car for under $ 100 ???
kevin1221 replied to mobileparts's topic in General Discussion
I bought my first car in 1971, at 15 years old, for $50.00. It was a one owner 1962 Chevy II 4 door. It was a 6 cylinder with three speed on the column. No radio, no carpet but it ran well. I sold it about a year later for 135.00, and bought a 1966 Impala SS convertible. Kevin -
Check with the Las Vegas region of the AACA. They are an active group with a wide variety of cars. Nice group of friendly, knowledgeable guys. Kevin

I kept it for about a year, sold it for a profit, and then bought a 1966 Chevy Impala SS convertible for 395.00. I wish I had both of them back! Kevin -
I love this picture. We’re the wheel covers put on during final assembly, or were these specific cars prepped for this photo shoot? Thanks again for the photo. Kevin

Beautiful car Jon. I followed it on the auction site, since my brother in law has one that he is restoring. These are unique cars from a great period of time. Please post more info once you get the car. Kevin

seeking info on Dr. Art Burritcher, AACA member
kevin1221 replied to PFindlay's topic in General Discussion
I remember going to Leo Gepharts facility in Dayton Ohio in the late 70s. Lots of pre-war cars. I always enjoyed looking at his cars, even thought I had very little knowledge of that era vehicle. I attended my first collect car auction at his facility in the late 70s. I believe Leo eventually moved to the Phoenix area. I also remember many ads from Art in Hemmings in the early 80s. 1977 Ford Thunderbird w Factory T Tops $11,900
kevin1221 replied to B Jake Moran's topic in "Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale
When I mentioned factory option, I was referring to the t tops already being installed when the car was received at the dealership from the factory. I agree that Ford most likely subbed these out, prior to shipping the car to the dealership. Kevin -

Yes and in reality it was probably closer to 1 in 20 cars had the T-Top option. I have no info or idea on where they sold better. I would think warmer climates, but then the sun beating in on you could be a detriment. If truly interested, I recommend a Marti Report to verify these are factory items. There were several vendors adding this option after the fact. Other than the wheels, I like this car. -

I worked at a large Ford dealership in Dayton OH during this time period. I remember several of these cars coming through the dealership, but the t-tops were definitely a very rare option. My GUESS would be less than 5-10 percent of T-Birds built in this era. There were no interior shades for the T-Tops. This option was only seen on fully loaded cars. I believe the Cougars also offered this option. Kevin -

Absolutely beautiful! I love it! Kevin -
I live in Tampa and we were in the bulls-eye up until just before the last 24-36 hours. We are devastated by the destruction to the south of us. Words can’t explain the loss those folks are experiencing. I attended an AACA National show in Punta Gorda around 2004. It was a great shown in a beautiful parks, right on the water. There are people effected by this storm across the entire state of Florida, and now it’s aiming for the Carolina’s. Please keep the folks effected by this storm in your thoughts and prayers. Kevin

1966 Oldsmobile F85 (new arrival)
kevin1221 replied to AC Fuhrman's topic in Our Cars & Restoration Projects
Nice car. My Dad also had a 66 F85. His was a tan 4 door. I took my drivers test in that car. It was a good car for us in early 70s. Kevin -
1971 Vega GT. The day it turned 40,000 miles, it imploded. It used more oil than gas. It ran on STP until I sold it one night in the rain. My dad asked me how was I going to sleep that evening. I said “like a baby”. At the same time (1974), it began to rust away also. By far the worst car I ever owned.

Thanks Annie. I really enjoyed the photos. I had lived in the Vegas area for 4 years, and had recently moved back to Florida. I was unable to attend the show. Kevin

Great pictures. Thanks for posting them. Looks like a nice variety of vehicles. I loved the photos of the Vegas area also. Kevin

1941 Cadillac series 62 - $38,500 (plant city)
kevin1221 replied to a topic in "Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale
Why is it listed on Los Angeles Craigslist and the ad states it is in Plant City FL (outside of Tampa). I also agree that the car looks good. Kevin -
Thanks for the update Brian. I was somewhat fearful of a low turnout. It's a shame that Western states do not bring the crowds that the east coast shows do. I had lived in the Las Vegas area for four years, but moved back to Florida last summer. I have shown a 1966 Mustang in many AACA Nationals in the southeast US. Those shows normally attract 300-400 cars. I'm guessing the COVID mandates in Nevada right up until very close to the show date did not help either. I do know many in the Vegas Region, and I know they put forth a great effort. Your Camaro is beautiful. Good luck achieving your Senior Award. Kevin

I know this show was last weekend, but was wondering if anyone attended the show or had any reports on how it went. Thanks Kevin

Great job! I’m sure your son will treasure it . Kevin
