  1. thanks for all the info I finally got the unit out, dropped the steering column and took out the 10mm nuts holding the cps box and worked fine.
  2. Daniel Thanks for the info, will try that today. Bill
  3. hello, I have a 89 teeves unit and trying to get out of car, is there any easy way to do this, I have taken off the rod to the brake then took out the two bolts on the firewall mount but the rod wouldn't pull thru, do I need to take the four bolts on the firewall mount to get this thing out?? If so how can I do this??? Space is limited with the dash in place. Thanks for any help out there. Bill
  4. hello, I have just come across a 89 reatta that has a complete teves unit that I would like to sell, it look to be in good condition the car is a AZ car. Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll pull it off the car. This one looks a lot better than the one sold on e-bay. Thanks Bill
  5. KDrik, Thanks for the info, yeah I know they are hard to replace I did the rear ones from a caddie I found in the junk yard but don't think they were much better than the ones I replaced. I had to use a hole drill to get one mount bolt that broke I somehow got a large washer and bolt up there and made it work. I didn't replace the front ones they look very hard to replace but gonna try. I have just replaced the front struts I thought that was causing problems, everything else looks tight. Ronnie, Thanks for the info on the part nrs. I called the local dealer and he said they were discontinued, I told him they were used on several other GM cars but he said they were all discontinued, will try on line to get some. Nic, The noise sounds like it is comming more from the pass side and is a cluncking noise. Could be subframe mounts or motor mounts? Just gonna try one thing at a time. My 91 has 175k miles and running strong. Bill
  6. No the mounts under the subframe, there are two on the back on each side and one on the front on each side., the strut mounts seemed to look good when I replaced the struts but I could be wrong.
  7. hello, I have a 1991 reatta and it is making a cluncking noise going over bumps, everything looks good under the car except the subframe bushings, does anyone know where I can get replacements? This may not be the problem could be motormounts? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks Bill
  8. Hello, Does anyone know where I can find some subframe mounts. I think mine are bad, the front end makes a clunking noise going over bumps, everything looks good I just replaced the front struts and the subframe mounts look like they could need replacement. I'm not sure about this maybe it is the motormounts?? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
  9. I have 2 reattas I would like to sell, one is an 88 the other is a 91, both are in fair condition with high miles. The 88 is red with gray int, the int needs work but drives good with exception of rear wheel bearing. I have replaced both front wheel bearings and driver side trans seal (3x's) but still leaks a little, tried replacing the drive shaft also and still same...the electrics work when they want, everything works, though don't know about the antenna. windshild just got broke (ladder fell on it) everything else is good, rear tail light is clear. has almost new tires. The 91 is all white with flame red int, drives good, just replaced the struts and sway bar links. front end still makes clunk noise when going over rough road. I replaced the rear sub frame supports might need to replace the front ones. the engine has code 41 on I replaced the timming senser but still on and the car runs fine. A/C changed to 134a but needs some work done. interior is in fair condition no rips. I replaced head liner with burgundy (shop couldn't match the red) my dog got ahold of on of the visors so I replaced them with burgundy ones. I have the one red one with hardware for both. I also have the shop repair manual put out by Buick for the 91. Both cars are in Kingman AZ, 100 miles south of Las Vegas. If interested e-mail me at powellwfp@yahoo.com I'm looking to get 2,200.00 for both as a package deal.
  10. Does any know where the back lights bulbs are for the radio/heater on a 91 Reatta? Also the center consul light bulbs are they hard to replace? Thanks Bill 91 White/Flame red 88 Red/Gray
  11. hello, I have an 88 with sun roof, also a 91 white with white wheels(flame red int) Bill
  12. thanks it is a 91 i have a shop manuel for it and been trying to figure it out. will check the CPS thanks
  13. hello again, i'm trying to figure out what is wrong with my lights for my radio/heater buttons, also the lights on the light switch and center consule none are working, the inst lights are working and the light for the fog lights light up.all other interior lights work also/i just replaced the light switch because the interior lights would stay on while the car was running. could my problem be the BCM? any help would be great. thanks
  14. hello i have a 1991 reatta has check engine light on, when i checked the codes only code 41 came up. i looked up codes for the 91 and there were none for code 41 but on eariler years there were (crank sensor). car runs fine just wondering if anyone has any ideas what it might be.
  15. hello thanks for the help, I replaced the light switch and now everything is working!!! the only problem was while trying to get to the switch I took the black inner bezel off and broke some snaps found out later the crome plastic bezel comes off with it. anyway I had to remove all the plastic snaps and then use rubber cement to glue on the blace bezel to the crome one.... I picked up a factory repair manual for my 91 and I wanted to replace the turn signal flasher, the manual says it is under the LH side of dash next to RH side of steering column I found it by turning on the emergency flasher and it was under the shifter behind the fuses... the manual is for the Riviera also so going to have to do more research on some things I guess
