  4. Does anyone make a solid state distributor for a 1936 Packard 120?
  5. Smoke got out of the wiring

Hello everyone. Put the battery charger on the car battery of my 1988 Reatta, positive on positive and negative on negative, as usual, but this time noticed a waft of smoke coming from the center console. No fire. I disconnected the charger and disconnected the cables from the battery and then continued to charge the battery. After the battery was charged I tried to start the car. No start. I didn't hear the fuel pump run but the brake system pumped up as normal. Put a pressure guage on the shrader valve on the fuel rail and no pressure. Also, the radio no longer works but it does show function on the CRT, just no sound. The ignition was not on when charging the battery. Where do you think I should look first? Thanks. neroco2
  6. Teves Accumulator

It came out of the accumulator
  7. Teves Accumulator

Well, after a year of thinking about it, I ordered an accumulator from Amazon.com (thanks to info from this fine site and knowledgeable people) and it immediately solved my ABS light problem and the questionable results from the brake test. I received the part with free shipping in just three days. Outstanding. A question. I followed the directions for installing the accumulator including pushing down on the brake pedal 25 - 30 times. When I took the original accumulator off, about an ounce of brake fluid came out under pressure. Any ideas why. I test drove the car after that and all is well. As I was on a country road I spotted an 89 Reatta sitting in a driveway and had the chance to stop and visit the owner. He remarked how rare the cars are becoming and it took him quite a time just to find one to purchase. neroco2
  8. How Cold is it where you are?

I have two outdoor thermometers. The first one cracked into three pieces and is lying dead on the ground. The other one is gone. It left a note saying it went to Florida and may never return. neroco2@comcast.net

What color is the car? Inside and out. What options? Thanks Neroco2
  14. I just bought a package of 10 from NAPA yesterday for $5.33. The part number is 665-3234. I had to trim the head a bit but they were the correct length and fit well. Make friends with the local NAPA folks and they will treat you well. neroco
