  1. WEST!!!!! You are my Hero of the Day!!! Thanks so very much!!! I have one or two others I need help with...am going out now to get the pics and will post later this afternoon!!
  2. AND.... if someone could help me identify the fifth car down, I'd sure appreciate it!! I know it's a Ford with the FoMoCo insignia on the glass, and I think the name may start with a "P"...only number I could find was on voltage regulator P10505-B
  3. There are several corvairs, one being a convertible with a top that unfortunately has seen better days! Also a corvair van/truck??
  4. Okay.....I finally managed to get some on. Rocketdude.....you asked how this all came about so a synopsis..... We live in San Antonio. Some friends bought a metal recycling business outside of Austin. On the 23 acres they purchased were over 200 old vehicles (now down to 136). They have 4 daughters (2 months to 11 yrs) and along with the salvage yard and the vehicles there is a Parts Warehouse. The previous owners would buy, then scrap the vehicles after removing what they considered sellable parts. They needed help in trying to identify the vehicles and to make some sense out of the warehouse and parts therein. Unfortunately, the previous owners lost the business due to tax problems and were not happy about it; as a result, they destroyed most paper trails on the vehicles and all the inventory lists that they had. So my job has been to identify what I could, decide on the best course of action for the vehicles and then inventory all the loose parts. And it has been quite a task I can tell ya!!! I have learned more than I ever thought possible about cars and car parts!!!
  5. LOL Okay.....as long as there are instructions I think I can do it!!!!! Look for the pics shortly!!!! Thanks, Gina

  9. I am trying to get the pics on.....have bunches....got total count now of 136 vehicles and am working on list....and boy, RocketDude...I am just outside of Austin and would LOVE to have help!!! lolol It can be a bit overwhelming for me....I learned thru necessity and basically trial and error on an old Dodge Dart with a slant 6 (a WHAT?!???) in it years back to fix it myself if I could because as a single mom I coudn't afford mechanics....got easier when I walked into a Western Auto and found this rack of "How to Fix, Change or Repair what's broke" pamphlets!!! It was sure dirty work but o man I would be so proud when I got whatever it was running again!!! N-E-Ways....I am gonna work on posting pics again and will also give short synopsis of why I am here!! THANKS LOADS AND LOADS GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. HEHEHE boy.....y'all are ALL nutz!!! guess I'll fit right in....sorry John, but no amphicars here so far...did find a Cadillac boat tho! Also have a few others I will try and get pics of today....need help with them.... MRPUSHBUTTON.....TY TY TY!!!! your information cleared up a lot for me!!! It has been confusing ...you mentioned a "list" of what the CCCA deems "classic" or "true classic" ... is it a list available to the general public??? Okay....I am going to try and figure out how to get a few pics on here...need a bit of help them so y'all stay tuned please!!!! Thanks again MRPUSH Gina
  11. Hi Mike, and thanks for your input. I agree with you 100% in regards to NOT crushing. I know some folks look long and hard for their "dream car" and to think I may have something here for them is enough incentive for me to "keep them alive". And as for the parts, I am also trying to inventory a warehouse full of used parts...the business here is actually a recycling/scrap yard and as such there are literally hundreds of old car parts. I can tell ya, I've never seen so many taillight assy's or grilles in one place in all my life!!! Thankfully, I have space available to keep them on hand as I know somewhere out there someone is looking for that one little piece to finish their project! We are living in such a fast-paced world these days, I intend to do my part in remembering the gentler times when a ride in your grandpops old Ford p/u was considered a treat!!! As I get further along in the process, I will post some of what is available. I also have plenty of pics if anyone is interested in seeing them!! Gracias muy amigos!!!!!
  12. WOW! So much to think about.....very valid points in all, some of which I had not considered but as a result feel I may be in over my head! Maybe if I explain a bit further.....I am looking at a count of 136 vehicles....mostly '40's thru '60's models of all types. I am trying to identify and establish whether or not they are worth selling as is, parting out or crushing. I have a partial list below. I was just hoping for a basic guideline ....where the rust is, how large an area, etc. to maybe get me a bit closer to deciding keep or crush. This is all a bit overwhelming for this novice!! Thanks all of you for your help ... gonna go sit down and watch the sun set for a bit I think!!!! 60 Biscayne 54 New Yorker wagon/van Hornets late '30s early '40s Ford P/U's (?) 46 Fleetline 67 Chevelle SS 58 DelRay Superwasp Edsel Ranger Pontiac SilverStreak 57 Bel Air 62 Corvair Studebaker Again, thanks for your help!!! Gina
