  1. As best I have been able to determine, this is a 1941 Chevy, but I haven't been able to find a picture of one that is identical - most of the photos I've found, there is chrome horizontal decoration on the fender from the wheel well back to the end of the fender and this car does not have that. What about model? It kind of looks like a convertible, but I'm not sure. I'm told it was green. Were convertible tops always black back then? I believe there's a horizonal piece that goes across the top of the bumper that is missing. Here are two different views. Front View Side and back view
  2. Great! Thanks for the info and link! On a site that sells diecast models of this car, they say that 642 were built. Yes, I thought it had a rumble seat. Sidemount - does that refer to the spare tire? I hunted thru photos on the web for about two hours last night and finally figured out what it is by searching on "hood ornaments" and then going thru all the possible years starting backwards with 1948. What a thrill when I finally found it. Gosh, if I were wealthy, I'd go buy one just to sometimes drive the same car my dad had.
  3. This 1938 Buick Century convertible was my dad's first car. In researching on the web, I've seen it referred to as sport, coupe and roadster. Does anyone know which it is? Also, I'm interested in what colors were available for this car - even a paint chart would be great. And, what about the interior color? Lastly, does anyone have or know where I can get a high resolution image of the radiator emblem? Thanks
