  3. I have the front bumperettes “ high rise” off my 49 Buick roadmaster up for sale any interest...please email me directly. passan74@comcast.net These are made by “VAN AUKLIN” for Buick i have. Resurrected them , they have been meticulously restored and rechromed, stunning! they come with the original front bracket holders that strap to the bumper and there are also the underside frame brackets, these high rise bumperettes slip over the small bumperettes that are already on the car,, perfect design! thank you, Dennis
  4. F/S 1995 BMW 525i $4000. email for pics & info passan74@comcast.net thank you everyone! evelyn
  5. 1977 MGB with 32,884 miles on it - title in hand - $ 8,000 1st owner drove it 28 k miles in 17 yrs / 2nd owner drove it 4,000 miles in 15yrs. what needs repairing; The trunk lid prop locking mechanism was not released properly and the inside of the lid frame got split were the rod attaches, it needs a weld and a little body work on the top side. As the original owner was backing out of the garage he rubbed the passenger rear quarter panel lightly it was repaired when the car was new but now you can notice a difference in shine compared to the original paint on the door, a buffer can rectify that. descriptions; The interior seats and the door panels and the side kick panels and the rear deck surround panels in the back seat deck are saddle brown and in mint condition. I was impressed at how preserved the car is. Only the driver side rug/w both glued on threshold rugs and the rear seat deck rug top need replacing. The floor carpets are black. All the original floor snaps for the rugs are in like new condition, the original floor paint and the glued on insulation is in very good condition. The seat belts, and the tracks for the seat as it glides forward and backward are like new, no water or rust or anything ever entered these areas. It has the original convertible top as you see, a new mohair top would be nice, this top is in ok condition but it has seen its day. It has both the tonneau cover and the parade boot cover, they both have been preserved in a time capsule, and they shine like new. The nice thing about this car is, it was ziebarted from the dealership!! The entire body & frame have been preserved. Any body man would look at it and say “that’s why this car is still here” The first areas I look at are under the rocker panels and areas like the battery well inside the rear deck area, they are usually rusted first, but, this one is amazing, the battery well and the cover lid with the little ½ turn screws are intact and functional with the original warning sticker still in place, nothing has ever been touched, it is all there but compared to the rest of the interior I would definitely replace it. This car never spent a night outside it has been always garaged The windshield to body rubber is in perfect condition. The new replaced parts consist of: Water pump, belts, hoses, Fuel pump, Battery, weber carb. w/ choke pull, exhaust header, muffler, dual point distributor, Mallory coil, master brake cylinder, master clutch cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, front disk brakes, alternator. 4 Michelin all-season tires. If nobody buys the car I was thinking of converting it to a V8 engine with the chrome bumper conversion as well. Both kits are available, Google the following words, ”MGB V8 conversion” and “MGB chrome bumper conversion” Both rubber bumpers are replaced with chrome ones and you get a grill like the old mg’s The car is shorter & lighter. This engine runs so good I will not be doing the V8 for a long time; maybe I’ll just do the bumper conversion first if I cannot sell it. This year MGB shares the same engine bay opening size that the actual V8 factory produced MGB-GT has, so this would be the perfect candidate for a V8 engine! passan74@comcast.net for replies....thanks
  6. the torque tube probably has one of the longest trailing arms on each side of the rear end just below the rear spring perch's and they run to the front of the tube. the clam shell and rubber mounted horseshoe keeps everything aligned and in place so when the rear wheels turn the car gets propelled accordingly. the original way was a direct connection through the clam shell directly bolted to the back of the transmission**** i looked at the port holes and there are no visible poc marks on them....but there is just some areas that the chrome looks like frosted flakes! but the choice is yours
  7. hi steve , thanks for the reply the car is in a private collection in houston texas i miss it the portholes are probably not a buff and install but still good candidates for someone who needs parts for the chromer ! the torque tube end already has a springloaded seal that fits the splines,(keeps the oil at bay) so i made sure it fit and filled the rear end with the appropriate oil and level. the clam shell as refered to i used to sandwich the end of the torque tube i inverted the outside shell to actually spoon the end of the torque tube, i simply inverted it and made a center ring spacer that kept the torque tube end snug & movable but was firm and in place, i also greased this metal sandwich and put a zerk fitting on the lower side so i could get at it from the bottom - now to keep this sandwiched torque tube end centered and supported i made a horseshoe ring that bolted to the outside diameter of the clam shell bolts and then rubber mounted it to the cross support where it originally had been mounted, from that point i had found a slip joint universal that matched the original torque tube spline and mated it with the 7004r slip joint universal, so what i ended up with was a universal with a slip joint on each end! the spline tooth count was only a couple of teeth off if i remember correctly the number 29 sticks out for some reason??? after that the basic tranny mounts and engine mounts had to be aligned and installed in favor of the angle to the tube with a 2-3 degree differential, this amount keeps enough load onto the spinning universal to keep it from spinning ugly on yaa! "70 mph" i was satisfied and hoped i bled those monster brakes!!! fun is figuring out all the little switches i had to make to satisfy the transmission and engine computer, wow, it's amazing, i found everything i needed through riends, books and the internet, the cool thing was my roadmaster of coarse was an automatic, and all i had to do was remove the detent ball in the shift lever linkage to allow the transmissions shift points to dictate where it wanted to be, simple! it was a very nice surprise, all i had to do was pop out the little plastic shift indicator and insert my own ** if you decide you want the portholes i'll ask 20 bucks plus shipping..thanks and if needed force yourself to have some fun!!send me an email if you want them passan74@comcast.net

  10. i have 6 stainless "port holes" (not actually holes but you understand) from my yousta-have 1957 super then from my other yousta-have 1949 i have 8 portholes round with actual holes- 1 cigarette lighter head the part you hold in your hand, not the hot part! then i have the chrome pieces that hold the grab rope that goes across the back side of the front seat,.. have i confused you enough yet? just the end chrome pieces that capture the rope. i also have a washer bottle holder, im not sure and cannot remember which car it came from, it's a metal square-ish style holder, i think it's from the 1957..? i also have the complete set up for the 1949 front high rise bumperette's please email me to discuss- thank you in advance - dennis- >>>> passan74@comcast.net <<<<
  11. to get those stubbord carbon deposit out i had rerouted the window washer tubing into the intake manifold as said before, and had brought the car onto the highway after the engine was good and warm, i would coast down to 40mph and then step on the accelerator to create a dyno like senario. as the motors struggles up through it's rpm range and gains momentum, i would press the window washer button until i could hear, see & feel a reaction then i would release the washer button and let the engine regain it's rpm's. i would then let the engine clear out it's smoke and do it again a couple more times, it's just seems to me that the difference is when the engine is struggling under a dynamic load compared to sitting there is the reason the stubborn carbon gets broken up and spit out the tail pipe. and im not even sure how someone said in the prio post that they did not see any carbon chunks come out the tailpipe?? how does that happen, unless they have remove the header pipe and put a steel mesh over the pipe? when i get back from my 1/2 hour highway drive you can feel & hear the difference. P.S. make sure you do this on an empty highway, you can hurt someone from your cloud of smoke it's no joke!

  13. the FRONT "Van Auklin" high rise bumperettes are perfect and come with all the original mounts and hardware, they were designed specifically for the 1949 buicks and were made to slip over your exsisting regular bumperettes, (takes less than 30 minutes to install). a rare option, i think it adds alot to the front grill! the REAR high rise bumperettes are in their original state, good, but need rechroming, you can buy either/or. they can be dismantled for shipping. i also have other assorted parts for the 49 that may be helpful email me for specifics passan74@comcast.net "see attached picture of bumperettes"
