  1. The cars are still available. I would love to see them go to someone who could use them. The hardtop has most all of the trim prices inside the car, engines and trans also.

  5. The pulley is not a press fit. WD40 and some gentile persuasion it will come off.
  6. The steering gear on my 55 Special was bare cast finish with some paint marks from the factory. After media blasting and rebuilding I refinished with Eastwood's metal mask and duplicated the paint marks. It will keep that fresh cast look.
  7. If you are looking for the engine turned dash inserts for a 55 Century, I found mine on e-bay. The inserts are actually aluminum with an engine turned finish, that usually clean up nicely. Then clear coat with a rattle can they will look like new. Caution do not use any polish on them or you will polish off the engine turned finish. Also reproductions can be had from: Doug Seybold, BCA #3983 2761 Clark Parkway, Westlake, OH 44145 440-835-1193
  8. I have learned that most suppliers repackage Steele products. I placed a call to Metro Rubber asking if the gasket that they offer is one they manufacture or a repackaged Steele. The production manager is supposed to call me on Monday.Otherwise I will contact Steele to discuss the problem. I agree Steele has been very helpful in the past. I needed the gaskets for the fixed rear quarter windows; that was not offered at the time, I sent the old gasket in and they made new ones for me. Very cool. Robert
  9. 55 Special model 41 sedan: I need help with a rear window gasket. The gaskets supplied by Steele will not allow the window to seat properly. Anyone know where I can find an NOS gasket? Or possibly another manufacturer that makes replacement gaskets for this model? Thanks Robert Acworth, GA
  10. Thanks for the reply. Yes 5664215 is the casting number. I do not have a master parts catalog to reference. Can anyone offer a advice on a source for a parts catalog?
  11. I need help to identify a steering gear GM #5664215. I purchased this gear to convert my 55 Special to power steering. After inspection it appears the steering shaft is about one inch longer than the standard gear I removed. Anyone have information on what year and model this gear is from
