  1. One more try!!! Hi all!!! I am looking for a Buick Electra convertible between 1964 and 1967... I want a car in good to very good condition, preferably white or red with red interior but other colors may also be of interest... I can pickup the car anywhere in the Us... Thanks Jan Lundstrom
  2. Hi all!!! I am looking for a 1964-1967 Buick Electra convertible in nice condition... Please respond to: janlundstrom@bredband.net Thanks Jannelu
  3. If you are looking for reproduced speakers to your Buick, check with www.autoatlanta.com I bought a new frontspeaker to my 1965 Electra, it fitted right into the dash, it was tight against the radio but i got it in place after a while and the sound is great... The size is 10x4 inches... The good thing is that you dont need to build a frame to fasten it to the dashboard... I think that the speakers is reproduced for Rivieras but that they will fit other models as well... I paid 23$ for my frontspeaker, i won it on Ebay... I dont know their retail price but you might get the same price as me, call them and check it out... They also have rearspeakers... Great guys and fast shipping... Rgds Jannelu
  4. I am trying to help a friend in Sweden to find a set of blue rubbermats to his 1965 Electra... They should have the white trishield insert on them too... Sorry, i forgot my e-mail adress, here it is: janlundstrom@bredband.net Thanks Jannelu
  5. Ok Ted, sounds perfect... I have posted the same question on v8buick.com under da nailhead and according to Wildcat2, one side goes to the chokehousing and the other side is open... Where on the carburator is the (clean air) tube attached??? Any progress with Paypal yet??? Jan
  6. Steve... As i posted before there is already a tube running from the exhaustmanifold to the carburator (choke), maybe i was not clear enough,sorry... It is 1 more fitting but no tube, i wonder if thats a blind or should it be 2 tubes running from the manifold to the carb??? Thanks
  7. I took the heat riser apart today and it was stuck in open position but i managed to get it working after a lot of oil and bending forward and back... When i checked the shopmanual, i noticed that there is a part missing from it, its not possible to see it clearly in the manual , to me, it looks like a bimetallic piece, just behind the spring on the opposite side of the weight and i think that its necessary to have it, if it should work properly, or??? Does anyone know if its possible to buy spare parts for the heatriser or do i have to search for a new one??? I also wonder why the exhaustmanifold has a small tube fitting just pointing straight out, it is about 1/5 of a inch long and it is located just over the heatriser in the forward direction and it is nothing attached to it??? The choketube goes to a similar fitting but on the opposite side... Almost forgot to mention that its a 1965 425 engine in the car... Someone know???
  8. Thanks Matt... I will order a pertronix ignition system, will also check the tires as you suggested... Jannelu
  9. I checked the compression on my 65 Electra today... The lowest cylinder read 158 and the highest 165 PSI... I have checked my shopmanual but i cant find the correct value there, does anyone know how many psi it should be??? One more thing, the car is very fuelconsuming, i have checked the ignition, carburator, i also noticed that the switch for the stator switch did not work so i have replaced it, i have not checked if the fuelconsumption have improved since i changed it... All the sparkplugs had black soot on them so i adjusted the mixture screws on the carb and now they are white as they should be, except one which still is full of black soot, as the compression read the same on all cylinders i do not suspect any problem with the valves or rings...Does someone have a suggestion what it can be??? I also noticed vibrations when i reach about 40 mph and over, i have balanced the tires and that helped a little but not enough. The vibrations come about every second, its like whom---whom---whom, i dont know where to start looking, its very annoing... <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Thanks Jannelu
  10. Does someone know where the transistor amplifier for the cruise control is located??? The car is a 1965 Electra, i have checked the shopmanual but i cant find where its located... I had a 67 Electra before and on that car it was located under the dash, just above the glovecompartment... Someone got a clue??? Rgds Jannelu

  14. I wonder if someone know if the speakers from a Riviera 1965 will fit a Electra convertible 1965??? I have looked in the partsbook and the rearspeakers have the same partnumber:7290934 so that will fit for sure... The frontspeakers have different partsnumbers... Electra:7289354 and Riviera:7290974... Anyone know if the frontspeaker will fit anyway??? I am asking because i know a place where they sell new made front and rearspeakers for Riviera and as i have a Electra i need to know that it will fit my car... Brgds Jannelu
