  1. When you're adjusting the panels, make sure the car is resting on the suspension, as if it was resting on the ground. It looks like you may be doing that already, but just FYI. Regarding the speaker... https://www.smelectrotech.com/product/4-x-10-special-rectangle-single-/13?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=false&category_id=10
  2. Cars isn't going to break apart a pre-made kit for a few bolts, and I don't blame them for it. Especially if it's and expensive kit like that. I would contact them directly, not through ebay, and see if they will let you know who the manufacturer is. McMaster Carr is a good place to look for those fasteners if you want to dig for yourself.
  3. All of the 60-62 Buicks and Cadillacs that I've worked on appear to have the same basic heater valve, just some might have a different control mechanism, which may have to be swapped onto this new valve to make it function as factory.
  4. We have spent months, nearly a year reworking a functional plan and judging system for the Modified group that is fair and inclusive. We've consulted several other clubs and organizations on how they treat/judge this type of class so that we don't miss anything or anyone who might be left in the dust. Here are the classes/criteria for Modified now: The new system has new classes, and a new approach to judging using a 100-point scale. Modified judging is open to all Buick-bodied cars with a Buick or GM engine, at least 12 years old. Classes under the new system: Mild modifications or “Day Two” – Must have a period-correct Buick engine. Simple modifications such as intake manifold, chrome kits, headers, wheel and tire upgrades Resto-Rod: 1948 and older; Buick or GM engine. Resto-Mod: 1949 and newer; Buick or GM engine. Radical- all years: Major body changes are allowed, such as chopped or channeled; may have drastic interior changes. Display Only: May include “Rat Rods” and Buick less 12 years old; also non-Buick bodied or non-Buick/GM engine. Car must have either a Buick body or a Buick/GM engine to be displayed.
  5. Here is a heater control valve for a 59-60 Cadillac. Also for 61-62 Fleetwood I think...but nonetheless.... I bought it for a 62 Cadillac I'm working on. It is physically the same, but the valve control is backwards of where it needs to be for the 62. So I just pulled the mechanical control assembly off the old one and put it on the new one. I believe this can be done for our Buicks as well, with this new valve. Heck, it may even be the same for our 60's. I recently did one on a 60 Electra and it appears to be identical, although I didn't have them side by side to compare at the time. This would be a great option for us who need these valves, and don't want to spend $$$$ to have them rebuilt. https://www.ebay.com/itm/233117659057
  6. The "Driven" award is given out to anyone who drives their car to the meet, and it has to be model year 1999 or older. It can be purchased regardless of if the car is judged or not. Day 2 class is geared toward attracting folks who make modifications like headers, intake manifold, aftermarket period correct wheels, racing stripes, aftermarket gauges, etc. A place where the 400 point system would eat them alive...the modified classes provide a place where those changes are embraced.
  7. Not reproduced...as long as yours aren't cracked and the mating surfaces aren't trashed, you can restore them.
  8. You have to sand the bad plastic off and polish when you find clear.
  9. A few more photos would do wonders.
  10. I would be absolutely sure your linkage is set up correctly. Have someone get in the car and put the accelerator to the floor. Verify it is completely engaging the high stall linkage.
  11. I used to have a saved search parameter that was about 60 words long, and would just change the year for what I was looking for. It went something like this: 1960 Buick -fits -bulb -keychain -key -...etc. That weeded out a LOT of worthless items, but some still snuck through. I didn't transfer that link to my new computer this past Fall, but I guess I could dig it back up again.
  12. check voltage at the + side of the coil. If no voltage, check voltage at incoming side of ballast resistor.
  13. Plasti-dip is great stuff. Flex seal is good, too if you can find that in a tub like that.
  14. I would agree that trying to sell 2 cars as a pair is a much harder sell. For me, that means 2 trips. Very few people have a two-car hauler.

  16. Woof. There was a used car dealer locally that was doing the same thing. They didn't last long.
  17. Me too. But my car ADD strikes again!

  19. A radiator shop can fix this if there is one close by. They will leak test it, too.
