  1. I really like the red paint color? Is it the correct red for '63. If it is, I'd like to know if it's the Burgundy or Granada Red? From the picture, I'd guess Granada Red. If you can email me more photo's of your car, I'd sure appreciate it. I'm thinking my '63 Electra is going to be one of the two original reds. email pat6801@yahoo.com Thanks Pat
  2. I sure wish I could read that article, but when I click to enlarge, it flashes up big on the screen for an instant, then reduces in size and the print is too fuzzy to read. Help?
  3. I know, I wouldn't cut up a GS either, and somehow I can't see any Electra racing down the drag strip, excetpt maybe in a cartoon strip. It did make me think about the late '60's Electra's though. I'm a big fan of the '69 and '70 Grand Prix's too.
  4. After reading this, I think a '69/'70 Electra convertible may be in my future.
  5. I'd appreciate any leads on a '63 power antenna. I'm not in hurry but it's something that needs to be done eventually. Pat
  6. I just called CARS to order a few parts, and the attitude there has turned around 180 degrees from the last time I talked to them. I spoke to both Kevin and Jeff and they were very polite, the best customer service I've ever had anywhere. I was one of their critics before, and now it's time for me to give them credit for making positive changes. I'll enjoy buying from them again. Pat
  7. Ted, any idea if Buick ever made a '63 Electra 225 with a 4 speed? The '63 parts manual lists all the 4 speed parts for the 4800 series, but without a console, so it makes me wonder... Pat
  8. Jerry, great to hear from again. The more I look at my manuals, the more questions I have. Looks like I'll be calling Waldrom tomorrow to ask him to hold off until I can educate myself. Pat
  9. After looking through my chassis and body parts manual, I can see I need to do some research. The exhaust diagram shows the exhaust exiting from the rear of the car. I'd appreciate comments. Pat
  10. Just returned from the Krause Auto Auction and Car Show in Auburn IN. While I was there I met the Waldron's from Michigan. They advertise exhaust systems in the Bugle. I went ahead and ordered the stainless steel dual exhaust system for my '63 Electra, but I have some questions before he begins working on it. -First, I hope I'll be happy with his work. Any comments? -Where should the pipes "correctly" terminate? From the rear of the car, or behind the wheels? -Were the original pipes camphered, or squared off? -My parts manual lists two different mufflers for my Electra. Under section 3.701 they are... 4400-4800 (dual) muffler 1355436, and 4400-4800 (dual) Sport Car Exh 1357150. Since my car is a convertible with bucket seats, I'm thinking the sport car muffler would be correct. What's the difference between the two mufflers? Thanks Pat
  11. I just realized the windshield pillars are chrome or stainless, so scratch that one. Pat
  12. I read the post regarding interior colors for the '62 and have a few more questions of my own. My '63 Electra conv't is white and the black interior is going to be reupholstered in the future. I'm considering changing the interior to the off white available for '63. Right now of course, all the interior is black, but I want to know which areas would change to white, other the than seats. steering wheel and column? carpet on lower door panels? carpet on lower back side of bucket seats? visors...black according to previous post windshield pillars? dash pad I'm sure should remain black lower dash? I haven't tried contacting the Sloan Museum yet. A while back I emailed them with a question and never heard back, so I probably asked something they couldn't answer. Thanks Pat
  13. I'm wondering how much if any of the '64 Electra a/c parts under the hood are identical to the '63 Electra. Thanks Pat
