IMHO the cause of the exhaust manifold damage was this factory Y pipe- restriction much? Second picture is the replacement without the restriction. -

Manifolds are off. Found my exhaust leak- cracks and hole in the manifold. I used the walnut shells in my blast cab to clean til I get the beads loaded back into the cabinet. Shifter cleaning went way better. -

I'll throw my 2 cents in, just because I'm tire daft and have purchased lots of tires... I've settled on 225/75/15 for my radials. I tried a set of 225/70/15 on my LeSabre, they are OK. These are Vercelli Classics, from eBay. I like the smooth sidewall vs the Hancooks ribbed and the price is great, especially after buying some J-78 15 Bias ply! https://www.ebay.com/itm/333863711905?fits=Section+Width%3A225|Rim+Diameter%3A15|Aspect+Ratio%3A75&epid=729849391&itmmeta=01HTJSJN9VBKFT11AJHENXQTSS&hash=item4dbbd3f4a1:g:viYAAOSwlZJl9KaG&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8G2c5mBqsxkm2pb3mItB4SHCpknMlF5c%2BjVJW5O3mdBUA1TaM39Gtv9UT4MKq2huN0UBYgJs%2FveUceP2kpd3CW%2Fo7OPkUZrHkjLLRsn4a8ORIAlTYxQNkKQa%2Bgp6Oxvw3kg7t9xNL0eCf5G%2BqKrOTHn3cxNzftw5O82QCymax1tEgs8q3GL%2FHCyNf6RFl8HyXZRJ5mpCjvj2%2FICOguMZIP0GrFtEWETzKr1PDC0woCTjUIbT8FfaC3yvnuefRw8e7POYWC%2B0AdCSKNN8yi%2B%2BEvfbif%2BAejRQwfwYG79yKVSUXMuFqdNg3AlUE0vgE6a95A%3D%3D|tkp%3ABFBMjNXK2dRj

Yesterrday I put my rebuilt (EverydayPerformance!) Q-Jet back on and it fired up perfect, not a hiccup. Well just one big one- loud exhaust leak! Off with the manifolds! First- as it ran... and hour later disconnected. Frame off coming? -
Taking a break from Buicks...This one caught my eyeballs! I joined the OHC Club a couple years ago and started looking for an interesting example. That means to me 1) Sprint 2) 3-speed, 3) running or close to it 4) affordable So this checked all boxes for me. PHS docs say it has 2 options- Sprint package (OHC 6, Quadrajet, Shocks and upgraded sway bar, stripes) and an AM radio. None of this PS, PB, stuff to weigh it down. Standard bench seat with cloth/vinyl, rubber floor covering... There is some rust but not bad. The rubber floor made the driver's floor pan rust away, but the rest is OK. Trunk floor is solid and not a sign of any rust there. Paint is mostly original. Interior was covered with aftermarket covers and the material underneath will serve the first phase of my ownership. My plan is to fix the engine up- it started and would have been great but it has a manifold leak and a bad fuel pump. Parts are on the way! First pic- the ad, 2nd is at new home, 3rd -OHC Sprint 6!

Hi Don- I did not see this post til now since searching for MCB's website again. I have used their brakes exclusively since the first job on my Buick Special Wagon. They are the cryogenic cast drums and whatever tech shoes Praise Dyno Brake was selling early 2000's. They are Excellent, even 20 years later. For my other A bodies I have the shoes from MCB and they work great. I'm about to buy some more! Cheers.
