The snaps to hold the boot when the top is down. My Towncar has that treatment and they called it Roman Chariot Edition. Decorative, not functional !

In my opinion she is a stylish blank slate, no need to worry about keeping her original as that ship has sailed. Could be turned into a super nice road cruiser with a modern Mill ! A lot of work and garage space though.
