I have bought a new waterpump. And think this might work. I will re-use the old backing plate But the small hole in the backing plate is where the impeller is in the new pump. Should I weld up the hole and drill a new so it clears the edge of the impeller ? What is the purpose of this hole ? Will this pump work ?
