  2. I'll bet the "1968 Buick Riveria" would get more attention if he spelled Riviera correctly. I would think most people looking for a specific car would enter the model. I couldn't find it in a "Riviera" search. cjp69 must have been searching for Buick. I did once get a pretty good deal on some marine exhaust manifolds for a Merc 7.4 on ebay I believe because of a spelling mistake and no reserve.
  3. Thanks for the pics RivMan and RivNut. RivMan's pic looks like how I thought it should be. I failed to find the fitting locally. Going to order this, hopefully I got the sizes right: https://www.discounthydraulichose.com/3602-05-05-02.html Here is what I was working with:
  4. I just finished rebuilding the carbs on my car. I noticed the front fuel line T connection looked a little funny when it was apart. I had also wondered why someone had used a bunch of teflon tape on the fuel fittings. I put everything back without the tape and it leaks pretty bad. You can see why. I'm guessing someone tried to "fix" the T at some point. I'll bet there is supposed to be a male pipe thead . Can someone confirm?
  5. Yep. Not cheap but worked. Didn't need to splice it anywhere. It probably sits a little lower than stock at the carb. https://www.retromotioninnovations.com/collections/universal-parts/products/3-8universalmolded
  6. Looks doable, I may have to cut a little and splice.
  7. Anyone have a heat riser spring and retainer clip for a 65 Riv? The valve on my car moves freely but is missing these pieces. I'm in the process of refurbishing the carbs, if I can't find the pieces I'll put on an electric choke. Thanks! Allen
  8. This should work. May need a short length spliced on. Universal-Molded-Fuel-Line-Rubber
  9. I did a little searching online and can't seem to find a PCV hose for a 65 riviera. This should still work but it would be nice to have something newer and a little less brittle. I could always make something out of new hose but it would be nice to get something close to original.
  10. Did you see this comment by CaptainMyCaptain on this car? Someone is pretty clever... CaptainMyCaptain 211 There is a greater than zero chance this car was ordered new by The Most Interesting Man Alive. There are tell-tale signs. He custom ordered the car in Sea Mist Green because that was the color of envy. When he drove the car off the showroom floor after it arrived at the dealership, it immediately increased in value by 50%. The California title with his signature on it went on to win the Pulitzer Prize for non-fiction. A year into ownership he was changing a tire in the high desert outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico when he was bit three times by a rattlesnake. After five long days of excruciating pain, the snake finally died. Later that same year he returned the car to the Buick dealership for scheduled maintenance. A disagreement developed over the proper spark plug gap. The Most Interesting Man Alive eventually had to punch the Service Manager in the face to prove a point. The Service Manager had to fight the strong urge to thank him. The drum brakes on the car are actually signed by Ringo Starr. The grill on this Riviera can perfectly cook a Porterhouse steak to perfection. The rear fender skirts lift themselves slightly every time he walks by the back of the car. There is a whole section of the Owner’s Manual dedicated just to his beard. He was once pulled over for speeding fifty miles outside Vegas. When the officer saw who was behind the wheel of the big Buick coupe, he wrote himself a ticket. In the mid 70s he had the Riviera shipped across the pond on the Queen Mary so he could compete in the Tour de France. He won the race, but was later disqualified for riding a unicycle. On the voyage back home he rebuilt the transmission using only the key to his cabin and dental floss. Back in California he had the factory clock removed due to the fact that time is always on his side. He drove the green beast to Chuck Norris’ house to teach him the marshal arts. On the way back home he pulled the Riviera over to the side of the road and had an awkward moment, just to see what it felt like. He and the Riviera are both considered national treasures in countries they have never even visited. Bikers walk their motorcycles past the Riviera wherever it may be parked. He doesn’t always drive. But when he does, he drives a 1970 Buick Riviera in Sea Mist Green. He is the Most Interesting Man Alive. May the auction prove worthy.

  17. The job number on its own is not very helpful in identifying the original color. Here is another quote from Tom: "You are correct re the SCO referring to "special car order". The number after the code refers to the job number so to determine the exact original paint code one would need to have access to some original paperwork. Of course, there is investigative technique which will also net a very educated guess if conducted well.." Link to discussion about my cars POP and Cowl Tag. Thanks! Allen
  18. Hi Ed, Here is what Tom Mooney had to say about that code when I introduced the car to the forum: The "50" on the Fisher Body tag is for "seat belt delete" which is also very unusual.
  19. Great thanks Ed! I'll do a little searching.... -Allen
  20. Is pulling the door skins the best way to get to the window motors and mechanisms? Makes me a little nervous for some reason. This is unique and foreign to me. Guess I'm worried about scratching or messing things up somehow. The driver side door is missing a skin stud and there is one that is loose and spins in place. I didn't look at them all. Hoping these are the only ones with issues. Are these easily replaceable? The driver side door handle is a little loose. Driver vent window is not working either. Will be nice to get things working like new. Can anyone recommend a weather strip supplier? Lot's of questions already... Thanks in advance!
  21. Thanks Tom, I didn't see any tags on the rear springs. I haven't checked the fronts yet. Is there anything else I look for to confirm the H2 option? -Allen
