This weekend Das ( Ouch! ) Fescht, ( Bad Vendor)

Tom, I'd like to address your original post regarding the inconsiderate vendor. It's unfortunate that things like this happen. I continue to meet a lot of great people at events like Das Awkscht Fescht and Hershey. However, every once in a while you run into a.......donkey. I know the park manager, Amy Hillegass, and if she knew about the situation, I'm sure she would have addressed this with the vendor. Should you want to speak with her, the park phone number is 610-966-4289. I'm going to forward a link to her of these postings regardless, so that she is aware. Regarding some of the other comments about the show, we have already begun working on things to make the 2018 show and future shows significantly better. Our primary goals are to increase the number of cars at the event by increasing the number of clubs that attend on Sunday, growing the military vehicle display for the weekend (which was only there on Saturday this year), and increase the number of flea market vendors. It's going to take a lot of work to do this, but fortunately a lot of great people have stepped up to make it happen. 2017 was my first year as the show chairman, and although I had been handling Friday and Saturday's show car parking for a few years, I learned very quickly how much I didn't know about everything else. If you have any additional comments, feedback, or suggestions, please feel free to give me a call or send me a message. You can reach me at 610-698-5480. I'd be happy to hear from you. Regards, Matt Manwiller Ontelaunee Region AACA Das Awkscht Fescht Committee Chairman
  2. For Sale - 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Two Door Hardtop. Car has 292 V8 and power steering. Some factory a/c components installed, some come loose with the car. Great driver or tour car. Lots of power. Can move right along at 70 mph. Was at Hershey last year if you happened to notice it. Selling so I can buy another car. Asking $17,500 obo. Located near Boyertown, PA. You are welcome to come see the car in person and take it for a spin. Car is also listed on Hemmings: https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/ford/fairlane-500/1945700.html Matt matt@excelsiorblower.com
  3. For Sale: 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Two Door Hardtop with Continental Kit and 1/2 of a factory a/c system installed. Price is $18,000 obo. Located near Boyertown, PA Good driver, great for tours. Gets a lot of attention, waves, and thumbs up wherever you go. I've been in the antique car hobby my whole life and was shocked at the number of people and other drives who will wave to you when driving this car. It has a the 292 V-8 with cast aluminum valve covers, factory power steering, and 1/2 of the factory a/c system installed. The evaporator/fan assembly is not installed but comes with the car. Selling because as nice as this car is, I still like pre-war cars better. I may be able to deliver within a 700 mile radius for the right situation and if the weather isn't bad. Please contact me with any questions or for additional photos. Matt
  4. Would like to trade our 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Two Door Hardtop for a 1940's convertible. The Fairlane has the 292 V-8 w/ 2-barrel carburetor, dual exhaust, automatic transmission, power, steering, continental kit, fender skirts (the small ones), and most of the equipment for factory air conditioning. The interior is nice and there are seatbelts installed. It's not a frame-off restoration but a nice driver. Attached are photos I took of it with my son on the show field at Hershey this past fall. Also attached is a photo of it with the hood open from back in spring before we bought it. I can supply additional pictures for anybody who is interested. If you attended this year's Das Awkscht Fescht in Macungie, PA, we were there all (3) days with the car. We were also interviewed with the car on channel 69 news Thursday morning before the show. There is some nice video footage of the car. Below is a line. The segment is about 13 minutes long, and our car is about 7 minutes into the video: You are also welcome to come look at the car in person and drive it (as long as there isn't salt on the roads). We are just outside Boyertown, PA. We bought the car earlier this year from a woman in our club whose husband had passed away last year. I was looking for another driver car, and I thought this would fit the bill. However, it's just too new and easy to drive for me. I would prefer a car that is a little more challenging to drive, has a manual transmission, etc. I'm looking for a 1940's convertible coupe Buick, Chevy, Pontiac or other GM product but MOPAR would be okay too. Must be manual transmission. Cream/yellow would be great but maroon or red would be okay too (my wife buys cars on color). A driver would be ideal. I'm not delusional about the value of the Fairlane and would be willing to add in some money with the transaction to make the deal work depending on what you have to offer. Matt

1951 Ford F6 Truck w/ Dump Bed near Boyertown, PA

Jay, Sure. Please give me a call and we can discuss the details. Through the week you can reach me on my cell. It's 610-698-5480. On the weekend, the home phone is best. It's 610-845-1511. Matt
  6. For Sale: 1951 Ford F6 Truck with Dump Bed for hauling Grain. Has V-8 engine, 4 speed synchronized transmission and 2-speed rear. Truck runs fine, but we dropped the registration and insurance last year. Had been taking it to the truck show in Macungie for a few years prior to that. Dump bed works well. It has a mid to late 1950's overhead valve V8 instead of the original "Big Six" flathead. However, I do have an original motor to go with the truck. Also have a spare transmission, rear axle, and front axle. Have (2) original seats as well. Truck is located near Boyertown, PA. I might be able to deliver if I can find a trailer to rent for hauling it. Price is $2400 or best offer. Attached is a flier with photos, etc. 1951 Ford F6 For Sale.pdf You are welcome to come look at it in person. My cell number is on the attached flier. Matt
