  1. Hi All: I have a '66 Riv with a bum power window motor, passenger side. Boy, I wish the door skin could be removed like on the 1st Gen cars. I am going to see if I can use that schematic to assemble my window channels. I removed the regulator and motor (what do-do decided to orient the motor attachment bolts on the inside?) to replace as per the Manual. But now I can't seem to get the various arms to fit into the available tracks. Does anyone have a picture of the '66 (likely '67) complete power window channel set-up, ideally passenger side? FYI, I did drill a hole through the sector gear and plate to hold in place. Thanks for your help!!!!
  2. Hi All: I am finally nearing "completion" of my '66 Riviera GS. Now is the chase for some final little things. Does anyone know of a source to find the glove box liner (aka insert) ? I have been looking at other GM products for '66 and '67 but none seem to fit the bill.
  3. Thanks to everyone for the terrific responses. Jason, incidentally the 61586 is printed just to the left of the word BODY.
  4. I am trying to decipher the cowl tag on my '66 Riviera GS. It appears the car was produced in Euclid, OH with EUC stamped between the STyle number 49487 and the body number but assembled in Flint, MI as there is an F above the body number and an H in the body (door) tag. I see trim TR code 608-A indicating standard bench in black. MM paint code for Riviera Red. So far so good. I see option codes E for tinted Glass, 3B for rear defog and 5K for door edge guards. 2 questions: The car has a power antenna with the correct bezel for the combo courtesy lamp and antenna switch. Is there supposed to be an option code for the power antenna on the cowl? What does body code 61586 represent? As I write, I had another question. Were seat belts standard in 1966? Thanks All.

Also to clarify RivNut’s comment on interior, that is Riviera except for the steering wheel and possibly the AC vents. Console, dash, door panels, all Riviera.

This car really seems like a GM factory custom. The side 2+2 spears, hood scoop, Pontiac emblems, steering wheel, 8 lugs can (relatively) easily be grafted into the Riv body but that grill? It doesn’t look like any GM grill I’ve ever seen? Not to mention the Michigan plates? I wonder if it’s documented in the GM archives somewhere?
  7. Thanks much. I am using a Stratobench possibly with a shorty console.
  8. Hey Ted: I have a ‘66 Riviera GS with its original 425 with 60k on the clock in show car condition, very mildly modified. I am looking to convert to a BW Super T10 likely with a hydraulic clutch set-up. Obviously there were no factory pedals or Z bar set-up. Any my ideas on what factory pedals might work on this E chassis? I keep hearing early to mid 60’s Impala might fit. I would love to use GM parts if available otherwise will probably go with Wilwood or other aftermarket set-up. Please e-mail me if possible at Paul.grassi@alliant.com Best, Paul
  9. Hi RivNut. I am actually attempting this with my ‘66 with original 425 and a “new” old Birg Warner Super T10 but with a hydraulic clutch instead of a Z bar set-up. Any additional info you have on this post or Joe Bettis or anyone else that might assist would be great.
  10. Hi. I have converted my '66 Riv to an EZ-EFI system. I am hoping to correct less than optimal performance by switching out the original Quadrajet manifold, which is very restrictive, particularly on the primary side, to an earlier square bore manifold, which I had milled to match Doc's intake treatment. The square bore manifold has no vacuum port on the passenger side rear to connect the steel modulator line to, only a brass connection (female, for which I assume I can swap the male on the Qjet manifold) for the vacuum advance line. Can someone in the group suggest an alternate location on the manifold or possiby the base of the EFI unit which has two blocked ports in addition to the power brake and PCV ports. There is an aftermarket Vintage Air system for what that is worth to the equation. Thanks all.
  11. Hello Gents: There seems to be one more variable in the spring mix, if you will. It seems that in addition to regular and HD springs, rear springs can be had with a "variable" load component. How does this fit into the performance equation? Is it preferred to maintain a fixed spring rate, front and rear?
  12. Hi - I am looking for a clean, '68 Riv hood spear to purchase. I also have a '66 ('67) and a '70 available for trade, if interested. Please contact me at paul.grassi@aol.com or 727-389-6890.
  13. Hi Rick: Are you still on track for the horn bar next month? Paul 727-389-6890 paul.grassi@aol.com
