  1. Not sure if this question qualifies to be in this section. What are the chances that a guy would pull gauges from a 1965 Mustang that were in working order? ( I did read that such gauges vacuum, oil temp, water temp, amps etc rarely fail) And that he was just customizing his car with high performance parts and new dashboard array? I have some such OEM gauges from estate sale and do not know how to test and want to sell. I know...kinda pitiful...but thanks
  2. Can appreciate opinion on this tail light. If it might be something other than generic. Ferrous metal housing is 4 1/2 inches wide. Has 12V stamped on frame with impressed '701' 'HALLLAMP' '150A' on side. STIMSONITE lens has 701 under name on edge and SAE-STDB-61 across on other edge. Clear plastic inner frame has no marks seen. Gasket no marks. thanks very much for any skinny on this.
  3. Was gone for a few...just getting back to find all this good intel. Thanks a lot. Mine is I.D. 4.0 inches O.D. 4 3/8 inches and weight: 1 lb 11.3 ozs Definitely non-ferrous metal but not sure if aluminum as it just seems heavy (could be wrong). Guessing they were made for a variety of autos
  4. Thanks...had to look up 'glitz' (had a notion but wanted to be sure). I really gotta stop grabbing things at estate sales when not sure. Runnin' with oil filter cover.
  5. Here is the 'other' part I got an estate sale that I could not ID. Would appreciate greatly, any skinny on this one. thanks in advance ps: there are no makers name, marks or part numbers which may translate to lack of quality control. (see image of milling or casting lines on inner lip edge....last pic)
  6. I could not find it...found some websites that were vaguely similar - as in 'evolved' and with name changes.
  7. Sounds about right.... an then the company skedaddled. My question to you, The '28 Chrysler has one of the coolest radiator ornaments (i think..winged helmet?) and you have a motometer avatar... No complaints...just wonderin'. Thanks for your observation.
  8. Great! The center port is about 1/8 inch higher than the eight others. Accompanying sheet you show is noteworthy on account there were a few V289 Mustang parts (worn and mangled) there at the sale from what looked to be a vintage 65-69 era. Interesting that the Ford number is 129 and the STINGER numbers 125 and 126. Gonna run with it. I reckon I'll find out if this red transparent cap is worthy or just a cheap gimmick. Thanks very very much for your report.
  9. Bought this at an estate sale and cannot figure out what engine it would be for. Box has '126' but '125' is on cap. No other marks seen except sticker. Company might be kaput as I got nowhere seeking online. The base is exactly 4 inch OD. Will appreciate any skinny on this, ie, Ford, GM or whatnot. Thanks in advance.
  10. I know that this may be a stretch but ask. There must be a point when Wheels are un-restorable. If one can look at these pics and determine whether they might be 'over the hill'? ....or perhaps one might have to examine in person with a chipping hammer or whatnot. thanks in advance
  11. I would like to know why this subject is not covered more fully. Women jousting in automobiles. Asking for a friend.
  12. I can almost recognize that radiator emblem but not...thanks in advance to anyone who can ID this one which is from a stereogram. Note reflection of license plate. Think that looks like the California Bear on License plate...circa 1916?
  13. thanks Hans. Would also wonder what one would call that large curved fin on the cowl, that kinda matches the curved side vent window(s).
  14. License plate shows 1923. But what year might this ESSEX be. Bonus points for identifying the license plate topper. Thanks in advance
  15. Can this car be ID'd with so little evidence? Appreciate any skinny on this one. thanks in advance your honors... I rest my case. best of luck n health to all.
  16. "Google Renault Suprastella 1938..." thanks hanski....... I did and then saw the Viva Grande Sport convertible of 1939. See attached. It is a wee bit larger, has the similar grille, hood vents and Willys headlamps. Running with Renault.
  17. Thanks Guys. Was looking for a brand name and thought it might be recognizable by the grille and year. Regardless of the raked piece of side trim and artillery wheels...thought it looked decent. Superman was a big meanie!
  18. As per attached...Can anyone name this sporty convertible...or might it just be an artists made-up rendition of a car? The license plate states 1939. thanks in advance to any skinny on this one.
  19. wow...thanks to hddennis for tko. I learned something today. Those ain't jarheads...they are army guys.
  20. This photo was found in a letter dated 1914. Researching the writer finds her name registered in New York and owner of a Franklin Auto in that year. Can anyone verify that this auto is a Franklin? thanks in advance.
  21. Can anyone ID this Automobile. The glass slide came from a group of same with various titles like 'Earthquake Kids', 'Boy's Outing Farm', 'San Francisco 1907' etc. Thanks very much in advance for any skinny on this one.
