  1. Hi Wayne: Only a few small things are missing. Here's what I can think of without being in front of the car... Splash pans (I think I can put you in touch with someone who has some) Fuel Reserve Lever (I think it's interchangeable with the series 80 and some other models) Cigar Lighter Carpet in rear compartment (can get from Bill Hirsch) Authentic Horn Button (I have a reproduction that I never got around to installing) Honestly, I think that's about it. I've never really pursued these items, but the few other things I've hunted down have all turned up, like the gas cap, crank hole cover, and sediment bowl. It's an incredibly complete car with nearly all of it's original components. Mike
  2. Very complete, correct, original car. Mechanically in good condition and a fun and reliable driver. Car has completed a number of local CCCA tours. 40-45 MPH is a very comfortable speed. Received AACA HPOF (Historical Preservation of Original Features) designation, and is a CCCA Full-Classic. Only manufactured for one year, the Series 81 is a relatively rare car with only 33 on the Pierce-Arrow roster, only 5 of which are noted to be 5-Passenger Sedans. The car was mechanically restored and cosmetically refreshed by previous owners between 1971 and 2001. What was done was clearly intended to preserve as much originality as possible. They seemed to only paint what they needed to, etc. The interior is original and shows it's age, and most of the paint is what was put on in the factory. For this reason, and the simple fact that it's a Pierce-Arrow, the car draws steady crowds at shows and while on tour. When I purchased the car about ten years ago, my plan was to fully restore it since it was so complete and mechanically so sound, but after the attention it received at the first car show I entered it in, I realized what I had and decided to not restore, but instead to continue the preservation. Since then, the interest in original/unrestored cars has grown dramatically, which is increasingly evident each time I put the car in a show or a tour. I'm only selling the car because my interest has turned to another. If I were to keep this one, I'd only fix the few little things that need attention and replace the very few things that are missing. It's a pretty short list of items which I can e-mail you, along with what I know about the car's history. The car is ready to drive and enjoy. Clean Florida title. Feel free to contact me for more information. Many more photos at: http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/pierce-arrow/81/1775441.html
