  1. These 2 average around 43 MPG!! A 50 Crosley Hotshot Super and a 51 Hotshot
  2. Just wanted to let everyone know that I have now secured enough hubcaps for my 1918. Thanks to all of you who helped me find them. They are at the metal polisher to put them in tip top shape. I should even have a spare or two when I am done. I also have a set of Brass 6 cylinder caps that I picked up on the way!!
  3. 1977 Seville with 44k original miles. Car runs and drives well and is in pretty good condition. Original 350 engine starts and sounds good, trans shifts smooth, brakes work great. The Napels paint shows well but isn't perfect. It needs rear bumper filler pieces and has some spidering on the rear quarter, close to the taillight. Interior is nice, top is in great shape. New rear bumper fillers included. Asking: $8500 obo More pictures on request
  4. Grant; Again 6 cylinder caps. The 4 cylinder are smaller (about 2 7/8" diameter) , made of aluminum , and the word Buick in block print go corner to corner instead of flat to flat like these. Thanks for continuing to look!! Dave
  5. Want to start getting the word out a little earlier this year. The Crosley Auto Club National show will be held July 8-13 on the Fulton County Fairgrounds, Wauseon Ohio. It is the most fun , Family Friendly event you will ever attend. Lots of new events this year including the Crosley Valve cover races which are back after a long hiatus. Events for the kids including the Crosley Pine car races, arts and crafts , and the scavenger hunt. For a full schedule and pictures from the past events visit www.crosleyautoclub.com .
  6. Thanks for the thought Grant and Leif. Both of you have shown 6 cylinder hubcaps. I think all of you may be correct that they were originally black in the center around the block letters BUICK. On the 4 cylinder the word BUICK goes from angle to angle on the cap and is approx 2 3/4 in diameter on the round end (threaded on inside) . On the 6 cylinder it goes from flat to flat and is larger. BTW if anyone needs a set of 6 cylinder caps, I have 5 of them.
  7. Larry; I received the hubcap today. Size is right, block letters in correct position, I think we have a winner. In rough shape but better than nothing. Only difference is the center on this one is painted black. I wonder if they used the same cap on other years? Anyway, thanks for your expertise. Still would take a few more if found!! Dave
  8. As Larry pointed out the BUICK goes from Point to point on my correct hubcap and is 2 7/8 in diameter. The caps on e-bat are 2 1/2 and Buick goes flat to flat. Close but no cigar!! How do you solve this problem if caps can simply not be found?
  9. Trying again to find hubcaps for my 1918 Buick Centerdoor 4 cylinder. Here are pictures of the cap I need. They are 2 7/8 diameter , aluminum, with the block print word Buick going from point to point in the Octagon on top. Thanks to all who tried in the past. I have purchased a number of similar caps but size always ended up wrong.
  10. My car is an E 4 37. Thanks for the replies.
  11. Still locating parts, however, it seems that the hood hold downs for it are missing. Again, I don't know for sure what they look like, however, does anyone have a set they would like to sell?

  13. Went back to the place I purchased the Buick today. Searched through a few rooms again and found the door trim. It was 4 pieces on 3 different shelves and a large piece leaning in a corner. The good news is.....ITS ALL THERE!!! Thanks to all who offered help.
  14. Thanks Brian; I am planning on a visit. They have offered access!! Dave
  15. After a few attempts to locate another 1918 Buick E 4 37 to look at as a pattern for my restoration, I have succeeded!! I had been told that there was one in the Sloan Museum in Flint, Michigan, however my initial inquiry was greeted with a negative answer. After writing back , I told them I had pictures of it in their collection, I received a second answer from another gentleman who affirmed that they indeed had one in "off site storage", and invited me to make an appointment to view it!! Now on to find the only other one that I can doccument. This vehicle, which was featured in The January 2016 issue of the Buick Bugle, was restored by Bill Thomas of Richards Texas. While trying to track it down, I am told Mr. Thomas passed away around 2 years ago. I am also told his estate was willed to Texas A&M, and the cars were sold at auction. Thats where the trail goes cold. Any info on that car or on any other E 4 37 in any condition would be sincerely appreciated. Thank you in advance Dave Anspach
  16. getting back to the shop next week, will try to get a picture then.
  17. There is a strip that goes around the door on my 1918. Im not an expert in any way however, this appears to be a cast material. It screws into the door seams on the side and bridges the gap between the door and body on the top. I realize that the possibility of finding original is remote, but does anyone , by any chance have any? I think any replacement might be difficult to shape around the curve at the bottom of the door. I have one door as a pattern, but in the process of re skinning the other door, the strip was removed and lost to history. How about having the strip recast? does anyone know someone who might do that? Thank you for any and all possibilities
  18. I realize this subject has been discussed a few times, but I have a question. Has anyone ever tried using silver leaf to "replate" a headlight reflector? I've done a few craft projects that way, and I thought it might be a solution.
  19. I have a 1918 Buick 4 cylinder. 3 wheels had hubcaps the 4th did not. One of the 3 was beat up pretty bad. Does anyone have a pair or even one they would sell? Thank you.
  20. I have a 1918 Buick 4 cylinder. The disassembled engine came without spark plugs. Would one of you be kind enough to tell me what plug I need and maybe who might have them? Thank you.
