Herbie at Disneyworld? Not Quite...

I've been having fun driving my '68 VW Bug for several years now, mostly during summertime warm weather. I'm going to estimate perhaps about 50,000 miles that I've put on it with this type of usage since I acquired it in 1996. This past fall I endured the second rear-ender with it, since I've been driving it, when a big, dumb SUV plowed into the back of the car when I was waiting to make a right turn at a red light. Much more damage this time (including to the engine), since the SUV bumper was fully above the plane of my bumper. Anyway, happy to report I finally got the car back on the road again as of mid-November, and the mild winter we've been enjoying so far has allowed me to get in lots more air cooled driving (including several days of work commuting so far for '07 too). This is a "posed" shot I took of the car in December in front of a local banquet/wedding establishment, "Bill Miller's Castle," in Branford, CT, which has quite a dramatic look to it. I wish many miles of happy old car driving to everyone for the New Year!
