Thank you for sharing this film clip with us , as old car lovers it is wonderful to see all the old brass autos as they were .....wonder when they got some kind of traffic laws in San Fran? Wow! a lot of near misses , but people don't seem to upset by them ....looks like a lot of folks knew what was being done, a lot of hams on the film , including several guys hot rodding it up for the camera, passing the camera operator then circling around again ,and again, and again ....guess word got out about the filming.Driver of car # 4867 you have a few tickets waiting for you.

I was discussing this video with one of my sons yesterday. He had seen some background information about the film that stated that many of the cars had been recruited for the film to provide more action in the scenes. The auto population in San Francisco was not as dense as shown in the movie. Still it is very interesting.
I’ve seen this great clip before. It is believed the film was made to promote San Francisco business. Cars at this time were both a sign of how modern a city was but also a sign of prosperity. As you watch the clip, you can see the same few cars appear multiple times to give the impression that there are more cars than there really were. It is hard to imagine what was going to happen in a few days.
Great clip. Wish I had a time machine. Well for a few minutes it was like being there!!! Thanks for sharing it.
Wow, what a great clip. The background music was wonderful.
