One of my clients asks what is the modern paint supplier and code number for 1950 Oldsmobile color:

Ivy Green Poly -- Ditzler No: DAL-40098-DQE -- aka Olds Dark Metallic Green.

Can you help? Thanks.

You should be able to go to about any paint supplier and they will be able to match it. Since that is a PPG number, they should be able to match it. If not, try a Dupont dealer as they have most old paint codes.

This has the Dupont numbers after you search so they can match it to modern paint.

THANK YOU!! Really great information.

Here's news about the project. A client has just purchased - after 40 years in storage - the Arfons Brothers Green Monster #5 a rear-engined dragster powered by a 12-cylinder Allsion aircraft engine. It was originaklly buuilt i 1957. Walter Arfons' first car was a 1950 Olds painted "Ivy Green Metallic". Such was also the color they painted GM #5 - per Walt's son.
My client wishes to restore the car to its original livery and get the engine running again.
