Re: how much for a red driverside front fender?

Dave,

Not to tough to change really. The good thing is that red is the most common color overall, so finding a usable red fender shouldn't be difficult. Pinstripe color may be an issue. Most red cars had a tan interior and thus have tan pinstripe, but red over gray was an somewhat common combo, so make sure you specify if you are going to buy a fender.

In any case, I'd have to think one can be had for less than repairing and repainting the existing fender. Probably over $600 to do the latter (body and paint work). I also have reservations about repairing plastic body panels.

Invite your friend to join the

http://www.car-part.com/index.htm

I found several nationwide, 3 red ones for $100, one for $125, would probably be cheap shipping since they're plastic.

I will tell him to join the forum, he just bought 2 1990 reatta convertibles and has many of the normal problems.

Re: how much for a red driverside front fender?

Thank you for this forum...I was wondering the same thing....whether it was best to replace or repair. I am looking for a passenger side black fender for a 1990 Convertible....was wondering if the coupe fenders and convertible fenders are interchangeable? Also, wondering if anyone has one for sale. I will check 55 Chevy's link. Thanks

Re: how much for a red driverside front fender?

1) Plastic fenders are not repairable. 2) Yes they are interchangeable. Beware of fenders from an 88 as they tend to stress crack near the front. 3) Getting the old fender off will be more difficult than putting the new one on depending on amount of corrosion on the hardware. 4) S&H will not be cheap unless you want another broken fender. 5) Kevin is right about the price. A good left fender will not be cheap.

I have good fenders (L&R) for sale but no cheap fenders for sale. PM me if interested.
