Yes, I had to use a set on my Willys fire engine. When I bought the truck it had two west coast mirrors which were so wrong. They had done major damage to the doors. I was forced to try something different. I installed two door edge clips. They tend to not be super solid. You can only get them just so tight. Be sure you check for clearance in the door jamb area. They will leave some marks no matter how careful you install them so I would install them and live with them. On your Buick you may get a decent view down the side of the car. On my fire engine I can't see a damn thing. I will not back the truck up without a spotter. When we are sure we are done competing it I'll fabricate a better set of mirrors with the right reach. The big plus is you will not be boring any holes which you might regret latter.
Good luck.
Sorry I had a better photo but it is a higher quality and won't load.
thanks i think i will go with them.beautiful fire engine, was that a brush truck or a front line truck when it was in service.
The clamp on mirrors will be making a mark and possibly bow out the area at the door where it is mounted. And yes....they ALWAYS wiggle loose.

MY DAD BORROWED A FRIENDS 41 CHEVY, SHORTLY AFTER HIS RETURN FROM WW II. HE PARKED THE CAR AND NOTICED THAT THE "CLIP ON" MIRROR WAS ON THE GROUND NEXT TO THE CAR. MY DAD REINSTALLED THE MIRROR AND RETURNED THE CAR. A FEW DAYS LATER THE OWNER SAID "HEY, WHERE DID YOU GET THE MIRROR?"
