Lovely car. I have heard rumors of a 1929 Presdent owned by a priest here. Maybe I should go to confession and find out.

Re: 1939 Zephyr barn find

Wow thanks for the complements guys! I have been having a blast with this old boy... I had a few rust holes on the floor, rather than fork out a butt load of cash I had them Linex coated... check out the pictures.. let me know what you think.... they will NEVER rust again!! At some point in this things life the floor was coated with tar. I completely stripped the floor with mineral spirits, and then had my friends @ Linex coat it for me. I used aluminum air conditioning tape from under the car to form the correct "grooves and bends" they then sprayed over it. I removed the tape and then had the floor pans undercoated as they were from the factory in 1939. When the carpeting is over it no one will ever be able to tell other than me. Plus the Linex is as Strong as steel for a fraction of the cost.... and labor... let me know what you think. Thanks again for looking! I appreciate the comments, both good or bad. This is my 1st restoration project, so any words of wisdom are always welcome! Daddio

Re: 1939 Zephyr barn find

Here are more pictures of the V-12 I rebuilt for the old boy. It is a unique engine due to the fact that it runs like 2 separate 6 cylinders... enjoy the pictures... I had the engine balanced, bored .030 over. I upgraded to SST valves and 1pc. valve guides, with seals. The crank was ground .010" and I installed a high volume/high pressure oil pump. 40 psi. at an idle, 65 psi. at operating rpm's. The brass inserts you see inside the block are to direct water from the water pumps toward the back of the engine. These V-12's were infamous for having the rear cylinders run hot, so this allows more flow the the back cylinders. This thing idles smooth, and has great throttle response through all ranges... with a ton of torque.... Enjoy the pictures!!
