| Re: 1939 Zephyr barn find Here are more pictures of the V-12 I rebuilt for the old boy. It is a unique engine due to the fact that it runs like 2 separate 6 cylinders... enjoy the pictures... I had the engine balanced, bored .030 over. I upgraded to SST valves and 1pc. valve guides, with seals. The crank was ground .010" and I installed a high volume/high pressure oil pump. 40 psi. at an idle, 65 psi. at operating rpm's. The brass inserts you see inside the block are to direct water from the water pumps toward the back of the engine. These V-12's were infamous for having the rear cylinders run hot, so this allows more flow the the back cylinders. This thing idles smooth, and has great throttle response through all ranges... with a ton of torque.... Enjoy the pictures!!
