    Ignition lock removal - 63 Riviera

    Made a custom dash for my 63 and want to re-use my ignition switch. How do you remove it from the dash panel once the electrical connector is removed?

    Get yourself a paper clip and straighten it out.
    Put the key in the ignition and turn it to Accessory.
    Stick the paperclip wire into the hole which is lower left of the key slot I believe.
    Push the pin in, while turning the key as if going left past the accessory setting, ignition housing will release.

    working on restoring my 63 Riviera.. looking for ignition switch removal.. thanks for asking.. it helped me too..

    how's your riviera comin.. am located in DC and will have Riv running by Fall.. perhaps.. we can find you somewhere at a car show..

    (ps .. replaced suspension.. new tighter springs, bigger sway bar, air shocks and bags supports (no it is not bagged..).. new disk brakes up front.. if you need any juju from what i have done.. lemme know..
