Dave,
That's great news - perfiect numbers. I've found a Ford 8.8" posi with a 3.73 gear, and disc brakes. It's out of a Ford Explorer. It's much lighter weight, the 3.73 is a nice gear to go with the .67 overdrive of the 200R4, (w/ overdrive, I'll have a final drive of 2.49 which translates to about 2100 rpm's at 70 mph w/ 235/50/18 tires) The Ford rear is 59" flange to flange. I think the wheel houses in the '64 can handle an additional 5/16" especially if I divide it in two, it's only 5/32" on each side.
I just bought a complete set of Scarebird brackets for the front (locally off Craigslist for less than half of retail; never mounted and they're still in the original packaging.) Bobby Ward at North Yale auto has a '76 riv with all the other brake stuff I'll need - booster, master cylinder, lines, proportioning valve, and calipers. Now I'll just need to have the Riv brackets welded to the Ford rear. Wah Lah, four wheel discs.
