Could be a 1926 or 1927 Buick.

That would be a rumble seat car. There is a step plate and golf bag door. Did Buick use stirrup style door handles in 1926 or 1927?

How about Studebaker of the same vintage.

I'd look to a European make for this one.

Thanks everybody for trying to solve this puzzle for me.
I've been doing some searching on the cars you suggested and can't find any cars that look like this one. Buick's seem fairly close but the stirrup style handle is the key thing in the photograph. I can't find a car that has this type of handle. It also has a landau bar. Does anybody know what types of cars are known for these types of accessories? I'm also told that the wheel hubs are most likely made of wood.
Thanks again for all your help.
It kind of looks like it may be a Stearns-Knight from around 1923-24, but I cannot find any photos of coupes of that period.

I can't identify the car yet. Maybe it is a Stearns-Knight. It would help if there weren't so many people blocking the view, I suppose.
I looked at a photo of a 1923 LeBaron-bodied Peerless that had a golf-bag- compartment; but the door, rumble-seat step, and general proportions were all different.
As far as the stirrup-style outside door handles, they may have been on a lot of cars. 1923 Peerless Mod. 66 Town Sedans had them, as well as 1924 Packard Single Six Tourings and 1927 Peerless Landaulets ( Park Lane Vintage Cars in England has nice photos of one on their website ).

I found a 1927 McLaughlin-Buick that looked close since it had the stirrup style handle. But it still doesn't look like the car.
1925 Buick, no doubt, probably Model 25-48, 4-pass coupe. The key is the french curve "S" that continues from the landau irons.

I can't see the picture well enough to see if it has stirrup style handles, but the rest of it sure does look the same.

Nope, no stirrup handle on the one pictured in the book. Did the 1924 have the stirrup handle? If so, this may be an early 1925, and they used the stirrup handle on the early ones, and later changed to the straight handle shown in the book... just a thought...B

WOW! That's awesome! You guys are great!
Thank you all for helping out with this. It's great to finally know what kind of car my Grandfather was driving back then.
