Old firetruck part id help

Hello All, New here to the forum and i have to say this a great place!! I came across this old part for a old firetruck and i can't find any info on it. I thought it was a latern bracket, but can't find another like it. Any help would be great! Thanks in advance

It's a lantern bracket.

Likely from the back of a 1920's ALF. A Dietz kerosene lantern fits into it snuggly yet is easily removeable if need be.

Thanks for the help!! It's looks to be that there were 2 of these mounted to the rear of a 20s ALF. Sure Would be nice to have the lantern to go with it

The correct Dietz lanterns are available but expensive, think several hundred each in restorable condition. We restored a 1923 Brockway chassied ALF that had virtually identical lantern holders on the rear of the hose box.
