    Mother in Canada

    Hi Folks,

Seems a General Motors car of cca 1942 with the wing bulge extending through the door. The stripe and badge down the wing should clinch it, but has left me confused. Looks like a Hydramatic badge of an Oldsmobile but it is seemingly in the wrong place? Wheelhub badge is a giveaway, but not to me. Surely not a Caddy?

Enquirer is trying to date her mother, who looks a teenager.

    Kind Regards

Looks like a 1946 or 1947 Oldsmobile to me.

    It's definitely 46 or 47 Oldsmobile. This is a 47 Sedanette

    Re: Mother in Canada

    Hi,

Thanks Keiser and Dave. From what I can see, the smaller eleptical badge on the wing chrome strip appears only in 1946. In 1945 the badge is long and thin, and in 1947 it is long and thin again.

Thanks very much for your help.

    Regards

I see what you mean, Vint. It's always nice to learn new ways to Differentiate years of cars especially when they're so close

The hubcaps in both pics look same/similar, which should make it an Olds.
