Re: Lots of old Automobile Specialty Tools

I've got my Dad,2 Grandad and one Step-Grandad's tools that didn't sell at estate auction is June. Been looking at your same problem for 2 yrs.
If you've got the time epay is best shot to get rid of them. Worth a buck to around 100 for some. Not sure you can get true value for the really rare onces.
There are some antique wrench clubs. If one is in your area, you might arrange to go to a meeting and get their help in IDing them. I've found alot of the old stuff has no markings but the experts can tell you " That's for a 1903 International Harvester stationary bailer wire adjuster".
Good luck.

Re: Lots of old Automobile Specialty Tools

The sight of these old wrenches is irresistable. "Fords" are easy. "Thor" and "Cadillac" wrenches are neat finds. More often, original tool kit tools might be staring right at us, but their markings are less obvious. Here's a good site, not so focused on autos but on the wrench makers and vintage:

Re: Lots of old Automobile Specialty Tools

I have one wrench that actually has the Buick script on it. There are other wrenches that are unmarked for the time.

Re: Lots of old Automobile Specialty Tools

Hello from collect junk central...
Are the Thor tools small? If so, I would be interested in purchasing Thor and Indian marked tools.
Thanks,
Tom

The one Thor wrench I have is smaller - there are some close-up pictures of it towards the top of the original post.

Curt,

There are no actual splines in the inside, it looks more like the inside of a tire iron.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks, Justin
