A friend claims this vacuum tank is "early Chevy". He did not say the years. Any ideas? 490 or later? or is it Chevy?

Hi,
This G-G vacuum tank was probably used on Chevys, but it was also used on Chalmers, beginning with serial number 210119 (Model 35-B), and serial number 126324 on their Model 35-C, through 1922.

Thanks Bob
The GG tank was also sold by the Chvrolet Bros. as part of their Frontenac overhead valve conversions for the Model T Ford. The Ford has a gravity feed for the fuel that was fine for the small carburetor on the stock engine, but when the overhead was bolted on, there was a need for more fuel. If you check the old Fronty catalogs, you'll see this as part of the package.

The G+G tank was used by chevrolet 1923-26 on open cars only.
