Bucket front seats from WHAT?

I have a pair of front seats from something maybe in the 20s.
the remnants of the upholstery appear to be a velour.
the interesting feature is that the springs are all pocketed just as Packards and other expensive cars had.

The bottom mechanism allows the seat to move forward and back, and at the same time raise the front of the seat.

Certainly someone out there in autoland is looking for these seats!

Re: Bucket front seats from WHAT?

At a first glance these look like seats out of an old Army Jeep to me but, I bet they are "jump seats" for a large car. Dandy Dave!

Re: Bucket front seats from WHAT?

They look like pre-1934 front seats from a 2 door sedan or 2 door conv sedan..

I don't believe a jump seat would have adjusters. I wonder if only one seat has the adjuster?

Re: Bucket front seats from WHAT?

I would say a two door closed car from the 30's . Only the drivers seat would be adjustable.
In my experience the open cars had leather or vinal seat covering and the closed cars were cloth.

F&J hit the nail on the head....
Only ONE seat has the adjuster.....
I just noticed on the one seat with the adjuster '1928 Essex'.
Is there an Essex owner out there who can confirm this??????
