Nash Metropolitan?
Custom cast parts mfg
Has a vaguely Lycoming look to it, especially the bolt thru the water inlet. Maybe from an early Towmotor?

Lycoming was the first impression from the owner of the yard that had it. There must have been 200 50's back engines in that area.

What are the lines going to the front shaft/pulley? Fuel pump? Pic res is too small- make out the #'s on head.
Definitely not the OHV British Motor Company 948 used in the Nash Metropolitan (it's the same engine as the Sprites and Midgets and early Morris Minors).
Sorry the resolution was not better, it was in with this grouping
