    serial number for Engine block on Ford 57 Retractable

    I have restored a 1957 Ford Retractable in Egypt.
    To licence it the trafic department requires an engine serial number.
    I cant seem to find one
    Can anyone help.
    The plate on the door post is not enough for the trafic department since they claim the engine might have been changed.
    It is either a 272 or 292

    Ford engines of that era never had serial numbers.
