Positive ground battery

I have a 1955 Packard 400 and I need to get a new battery for it. Can I buy a regular battery and then do i hook it up backwards? I read the battery forum and that's what I gathered from the posts but I'm not sure. Lydia

Re: Positive ground battery

Metropolitans are manufactured positive ground. Most of us switch them to negative ground so we can use electronic devices.

Re: Positive ground battery

Yes, they use an ordinary battery. You just connect it "backwards" - positive to ground, negative to power.
